What I know:

  • Fruit tree
  • Found in the Canberra region
  • The fruit is sour
  • I probably shouldn't have put an unknown fruit in my mouth (ah well, it hasn't killed me yet)

Please let me know if I can provide anything else to help with identification 🙂

I think it’s a cherry plum. I do eat the fruits off mine on the rare occasion that I manage to catch them when they are still pink and before they get overripe and drop off and squash on my driveway and start fermenting. Mine gets lots of white flowers in spring.

EDIT: I live in Woden area of Canberra.

Sugar plum. It’s not ripe yet. Ours have been in Melbourne since Xmas.
