In preparation for having the fence at my house replaced this year, I needed to prune some arborvitae that line one section of my yard. While I already have a large electric chainsaw that I love and various hand saws and pruners, I knew the big chainsaw would be overkill for my needs on this job and the hand saws would make the job more tedious than it needed to be.
After talking about the job with my colleague Brad Ford, I got the Echo Mini Pruning Chainsaw to tackle my tree branches. To say I was impressed is an understatement. This little saw zipped through each of the branches I had to clear in a second or two, and its compact size meant I didn’t have to awkwardly jockey for the right position like I would with a larger saw. Just put the bar to the branch, squeeze the trigger, and in no time I’m onto the next.
On the day my old fence was taken down, I used the Echo saw to take down a weed tree that had grown behind my fence that was a little over 3 inches in diameter. Despite being significantly larger than the branches I first cut away, the saw did not flinch and made quick work of the small tree. I definitely was surprised and impressed with this mini chainsaw, I understand how these tools are so versatile and useful.
