I visited a workshop that prepares equipment for fertilizer and soil amendment processing, and noticed several roller-type granulators lined up for storage and delivery.

Most homesteads obviously don’t operate at this scale, but it was interesting to see how soil amendment materials are shaped into uniform granules before being used on farms. The layout and simplicity of the machines stood out to me, especially compared to smaller DIY setups.

This post isn’t meant as a recommendation or promotion — just sharing something I saw that connects to soil improvement and nutrient management.

For those managing their own compost or amendments:

  • Do you prefer granular or powdered inputs on your land?
  • Have you noticed differences in application or nutrient release?
