  1. Jessica so good to see you and the family. It’s been a while since I been on YouTube. So good to see that you all are doing well. The farm is looking beautiful as always.

  2. Guests that come over or just people I talk to think it's highly irregular that I cook everyday. They are so fascinated with all the things I know how to cook. Things I post online that I could just put together from ingredients. That also becomes ordinary for me. So much that I am not inspired a lot. I've had everything! I've made up everything! But I'm soooo thankful for that ability. That's the sign of a great cook! When you have a rare and delicious Haley's Comet dish and you can't create it again! Just call it the chef's special! I made a crock pot lasagna one time that I've never been able to replicate. It was probably because I had some extra leftover ingredient that I threw in there. It was amazing and its predecessors are just great! πŸ˜‚

  3. I have done dinner fly by the pants often lol. Spices up life a little bit to not plan a meal until you are in the kitchen cooking without a plan beyond meeting the quota. lol Cheers to a happy new year to you all.

  4. Jess i believe u mentioned a wrap or shawl u were making, i think it was like a criss cross or figure 8 wrap? Does this ring a bell im looking for a project…lol

  5. I love how you keep your milking stantions so clean. I see others milking in mud and muck lol!!

  6. We do get use to the things we are blessed with. That's
why gratitude is so important. Happy New Year to you & the family. Thanks for sharing your life with us.❀

  7. I still remember the "cheesecake souffles" I made in muffin tins years ago using leftovers from a failed burrata filling together with whatever I had that might go into such a thing. They.Were.So.Good! I'll never replicate them.

  8. I feel the same about holding back on gardening, and saving my energy for the right time. In Utah we have weather like your right now. It's weird not having snow. Bless you and your family for the new year and all that jazz πŸŒˆπŸ’—πŸŒž

  9. Jess ,I have so many uninspired days, where I don't know what to make and then go start looking in the fridge and pantry and then realize what I need to make or get inspired to make a certain thing. Thank you for sharing your beautiful journey with us ❀ happy new year πŸŽ‰

  10. My family has trained me to write it down! 🀣 I have to do it while we are eating or they dread the chance of me forgetting. πŸ˜…

  11. Happy new year. Yes I wing dinner a lot and the hubby ask did you write it down, as a matter of fact I was asked that two days ago, a easy dish was tuna noodle casserole I guess he loved the way it turned out this time, I do change that dish up some times.. LOL I do regret it sometimes.

  12. 7:00 "number of layers … We have a Makers' Space in our basement. Outside is currently in the teens here in the MItten, so the basement is becoming chilly. I have a wool kilt & wool sweater to go over my "house clothes" to keep me warm when down there. Plus my apron to keep those layers clean. Layers add air, air adds warmth.

  13. Happy New Year Roots and Refuge!! I had a funny awkward moment. My son and I were talking about cheese making, and I had mentioned that it would be nice to have good quality fresh milk. He said basically that wasn't an easy thing to acquire. I don't think that it should be! I told him I felt I could easily get some because I followed a lot of homesteaders. He said I am cringe! And some other things I didn't understand. Somehow my heart was still so hurt. Now I don't know how to interact with any of my content.

  14. Ozzy is so handsome!
My mom shouts the "write it down!" recipe request all the time too. Sometimes it's a lost cause, but thankfully with baking I usually make notes as I go. Happy New Year Sowards!

  15. You’re such a tender flower! 30 degree weather is sweatshirt weather at chore time in ND this time of year. I’m a wilty flower come summertime. I’ll take a below zero day over an above 90 day any day.πŸ˜‚

  16. Good video Ma'am! I have commented in the past at how well you convert back and forth between Celsius and Fahrenheit. Quite impressive. And although I smile at how you are dressed for a few degrees below freezing, what makes me smile is that the boys are in hoodies and wearing crocs and running shoes. lol. You are going to be dressed in many, many layers when you go to see Morgan..lol. Nice looking cattle. Wishing you and the family a blessed 2026! Happy new Year!

  17. It's so good to see you back in 2026😊
May God bless you and your family abundantly in this coming year.
Greetings from a very wet, rainy Johannesburg πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦πŸ©΅

  18. I’m from Michigan and I absolutely wear my bibs when it’s 30 Degrees out. I keep telling my husband we’re moving to the south because this cold is not for me πŸ˜‚
