The White Hart in Fernhill Heath hopes to “refresh and enhance” its beer garden this year with several new features, including an outdoor bar.

The public house currently has what is described as a “modest-sized pub garden area”, but owners hope to expand it further with the demolition of an existing bin store area and taking up some car parking space.

The extension of the car park will come with a replacement bin store, new fencing and surfacing.

On the application, it states that the pub’s car park “far exceeds the parking requirements of this public house”, and that the new plans will make the area more efficient to use.

New features in the pub garden could include a stretched tent shelter, an external bar, new furniture and a pergola.

The application documents say: “The application proposals comprise the proposed erection of pub garden structures comprising a stretch tent shelter, an external bar and a pergola; together with the extension of the pub garden onto part of the existing car park, demolition of the existing bin store and formation of a replacement bin store, new fencing, new external furniture, and new surfacing.

“As with all commercial hospitality and leisure facilities such as this, the applicant needs to continually refresh and enhance its customer offer and attraction at this public house.

“The continued commercial viability of these commercial hospitality and leisure premises ensures the continuing maintenance and upkeep of this public house as a local hospitality and leisure facility serving the residents of, and visitors to, Fernhill Heath.”

The car park can be accessed off the Droitwich Road and Hurst Lane.

The consultation period for the plans ends on January 11.

The plans can be found via the Wychavon Planning Portal by using the application number W/25/02676/FUL.
