We have a fair bit or parsley growing wild in our backyard which we use for food/cooking at times. But today I noticed something I’ve never seen before, at first I thought some grass/weed amongst the parsley and I bent down to pull it out, I mover parsley leaves aside and to my amazement these “weed” wasn’t a weed, it’s actually growing from the parsley main stem..😲 WHY? HOW?

Once parsley self seeds, it persists.
But also, be sure careful with your ID before consuming any. There is an extremely poisonous plant (in the us at least) that killed a lot of people bc it looks a lot like parsley (water hemlock).
In my experience, those not-quite-parsley-looking leaves come from the parsley plant in it’s second year’s growth.

That’s another one we’ve got, different variety of parsley, that grew recently by itself ☺️
It’s biennial. It will try to seed after the first year. I let it seed and remove the old plant the next Spring if it’s still around the let the new seedlings take over.
