Tips and thoughts on foam background

Hello!

Any ideas or tips for my first diy enclosure. I did most of the detail before I paint next. Just want to see what you guys think of the spray foam. Do you normally shave it down or let it sit as is?
(I did make some rocks and have some wood to add later to hardscape)
