This is my very first attempt at a large vivarium reusing an old tank, specifically for a dart frog (Dendrobates tinctorius). It’s built on a tight budget with all the drift wood picked up from the wild and baked for 2 hours. I added 65-76% of a spring tail culture with some white dwarfs coming in soon. Later, I might scavenge for some mosses near the river and make it look more “full”.

Coming out of it, I think I could’ve used more depth and ledges on the background. The budget also limited the amount of substrate I could buy, so theres maybe less than an inch of substrate for some parts of the ground. Lastly, I’m just worried about whether or not the amount of springtails was good enough for this size. So to help with the population, I added pinches of some active yeast to help grow the population within the tank.

Tell me what you guys think! Im still very new to using reddit so I look forward to it. Thank you! 🙂

How do you mist, drain or ventilate that enclosure ?

BTW…”budget” is never a good idea when it comes to PDFs. 😏
