#naturevideo ~ The wild turkey is a prominent and widespread species in Tennessee, being the largest bird that nests in the state and found in every county. It was once nearly eliminated due to over-hunting and habitat loss but has been successfully reintroduced through wildlife management efforts by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA). This large bodied, big footed species only flies short distances, but roosts in trees at night.
