Today, cl. Grace Dunn is starting 2026 with an amazing show. They're are a total of 7 spikes. There is an explosive fragrance of cinnamon grapefruit in my catasetum greenhouse. It just about blew my nose away that's how intense it is and it's not fully open. The display is like a waterfall over the sides of the pot.

I love the frillyness on the lip and the red markings in the throat. The base color is mainly white and hints of a lite green around the center of the flower. The flowers are about the size of a quarter. The flower stems are hanging down about 10in. I'm having to use an terracotta pot to raise it up for display.

Anyone else have this primary hybrid in their collection? It's the season for clowesias and many more to come.

Enjoy the show and happy new year to the r/orchids community.

I’ve been eyeing catasetum lately and picking some for my wish list. And wow I hope some local vendor picks these up. I’d jump on it. Very beautiful and your plant is amazing.

  2. Love it! I have this one as well and mine is a few weeks behind yours in terms of bloom status
