The biggest problem is that most seed companies produce only, or almost only, F1 hybrid seeds which do not breed true. What that means is that you'll get nice plants from them, yes; but the seeds from those plants, ie the next generation, will be all kinds of rubbish if you try to save and grow them. This is done in order to make sure that no gardener or farmer can save seeds for next year so that they have to go back to the seed company to buy more. š¤¬
