Thank you for all your educational videos. I have purchased 2 used tower gardens. Is there a possibility of replacing a section that cracked? Also, do you purchase the nutrients from tower garden?
Thank you for all of your videos and downloads, the information has been fascinating. I've grown vegetable gardens on and off since I was 16, but never really had time to become more than an amateur gardener. I haven't done any gardening in the last 20 years, but recently retired and was planning a balcony garden in my new senior apartment to provide the veggies I love on a reduced budget. I have only gardened in soil in the past and I came across a free Aquaponics gardening class. I didn't know anything about it, but was intrigued and attended… and was sold on the idea. I have begun collecting free items on fb marketplace and Next Door. Assorted aquariums, filters, pumps, pvc piping, rubber tubes and even some rebar. It became so overwhelming that, although I was pleased with all the things I was able to get for free, I wasn't sure I would need everything I had and needed to slow down. I thought I'd start with hydroponics so as not to be overwhelmed and then when I had a better feel for it all, then I could add fish.I thought if I could get as much free stuff as possible, I'd have some money to buy the rest of what I need. I have watched quite a few of your videos and read some of your downloads. I was given a brand new Mr Stacky 5-tier tower and was trying to figure out how I could DIY it to make it suitable for an indoor leafy greens hydroponics setup without spending $200 for their kit. I was preparing a shopping list for Amazon from your pdf link's to get started in Hydroponics and I came across this video and noticed that you are now recommending a different and much more expensive ph meter. As a beginner (and a senior on SS), I'm hesitant to spend almost $50 on a ph meter.
Q#1: Is it your recommendation as a beginner that I should buy the new $$ meter or the one you recommended for $12?
Q#2: I'm seeing a lot of talk about RO water and not using tap water in hydroponics, but I haven't seen you say much about that… Is that a real issue? I live in the SF Bay Area South near San Jose and I know our water is very hard and chlorinated, and that's all I know… except that it's free in my apartment! ;D
Thanks again for sharing so much of your gardening knowledge. It's nice to find someone as detail-oriented as I am! ;D
Hi there, I'm wanting to go to some sort of indoor garden. I have a large south facing window that gets a lot of sun in winter. I have a plumbing business with easy access to material so I'll build it myself. My question is do you have a favorite design for indoors? Thx Pete
FYI – the link for the pH meter is incorrect – the link takes you to an EC meter.
I have a indoor and outdoor tower garden. In my indoor garden I also have the square herb connection. I was wondering if there is a way to close some of the light from getting through it. Is there a square cover that you can recommend that I use?
where can we as the consumer find seeds that are of high quality. the cheepo major chain seeds are 5050 in growing or making fruits ..
if i am just beginning does it matter about the lights? the lights cost $415 and that's a big investment, so just wondering if I should forego the lights for now. Using the color lights seems very advanced. thanks! love your site!!
