Gardening is not cheap of you rely on buying everything as video says. If you are on a budget and plant a lot, buy a large bag of peat moss, mix with perlite and vermiculate. This is what expensive starting mix composed of. Several time cheaper if you make it yourself. For some seedlings like cucumbers, courgettes (zucchini in the US) that are prone to black rot disease when young, I use old frying pan to heat up portion of the peat moss to sterilise it. For most of other seedlings I use my soil mix untreated. Humidity dome? Plastic wrap works just fine or you can use cut off tops or bottoms of larger water bottles. Seedling trays? Cheaply made, flimsy, overpriced. Instead you can use cheap plastic cups left over from party, any old plastic trays from store bought veggies if they are deep enough, medium-large aluminum trays for roasting, or empty 500 mL water bottles with cut off top. Do not forget to make a few holes in each soil vessel. I also save and use cardboard tubes from paper towels and toilet rolls.
Β‘Muy buen consejo! Diciembre es el mejor momento para ahorrar.
