I’m in need of some pointers! I’ve just started my very first carnivorous terrarium, my plants were just delivered 🥳 I had made the decision to start with only drosera species before branching out into pings etc, however I was gifted a free ping! I am grateful as heck, but equally unprepared to care for her 😅 could anyone give me pointers on how I could best accommodate her in my set up? Currently I have a lava rock base, Bog Boss media with a sphagnum topper. I do have a grow light, just not set up yet. I am as green as can be when it comes to carnivores but I want to give these gals their best life, any tips are so appreciated!

Best way I have found to plant them is keep them on top of a pile of lava pebbles or on a larger pumice stone. And avoid misting directly on top to avoid crown rot, but on the rocks near the roots. This will help promote root growth and will get them to anchor. You can keep some moss under the roots to help retain moisture but you run the risk of the moss leading to rot, I prefer to keep them on bare rock than substrate. I’ve found more success keeping them under a grow light over just pure natural light. Near sundew level intensity. These are rather hardy plants, I would also recommend you clip off 1-2 leaves to start new plants as backups. They start growing slow especially from clippings but will start growing like crazy once they get established. r/Pinguicula is also a good place to search through but sometimes is not very active especially on newcomer care advice posts. Feel free to ask questions my pings are thriving would post pics but currently not at home.
