I bought this plant on Facebook marketplace a few weeks ago.
Is it okay for the roots to be coming out the bottom hole like that? Also, the root seems to have attached itself to the outside pot. Is it okay to break this or could it damage the plant?
The outside pot has some stones in and a plastic bag but the roots feel very damp as the plastic traps any moisture.
I haven’t watered it much as I’m waiting for it to be dry before watering.
It’s been doing well but I’m now seeing some browning on one or two leaves (but also new small leaves coming out).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as sometimes googling gives conflicting advice

You can chop of the extra roots, it’ll be fine. They just outgrew the pot.
Cut off the roots coming out of the drainage holes. You don’t want them stopping the pot from draining correctly.
Give it plenty of water when you water it, but don’t water it again until the top layer of soil is dry again.
If you want to keep the plant in that basket, I suggest tearing that plastic lining out. It’s going to cause you moisture issues.
