I inherited this from a local business. It's been in the house for about two months now. I have some yellowing leaves and a new leaf died off. The root system looks messy (maybe it should look like this with age)
Would love wom advice on what to do here. I had thought about trimming the root system and repotting it but I'm afraid I'll kill it.
Watering is about once a month, it pours out the bottom. Sits in south facing window, in Ontario so our days are short and gloomy right now.
Thanks!

That first photo of the giant leaf looks great! I can’t have monsteras because my cats will eat them, so I’m less familiar with how they grow. Are those new roots the plant has put out? Are you supposed to repot and bury all of them or should they stay exposed?
I’d repot it and put them extra roots in the dirt for the plan to have more stability. Definitely needs to be repotted though. Try 1 size bigger than the pot you currently are using. Fertilize once a month during cold months. Fertilized every 2 weeks during the growing season. Water weekly. You shouldn’t neglect the water. Use a moss Pole or bamboo sticks around the plant for support and use soft ties or soft Velcro made for plants to tie it to the moss pole or bamboo sticks.
Honestly I would leave it as is until you can guarantee that you can satisfy lighting requirements. A monstera of that size will need sweeping sunlight for 6 hours. If you can’t achieve it as in the example below for beams hitting leaves you will need supplimental LEDs.
No other instruction is important right now. Assure you have the light and don’t overpromise to the plant and then underdeliver. You need the light above all else. Next water patterns, next humidity, them worry about reporting after multi month stability.
