I think I have the basil thing figured out. I’ve never had mine in direct sun. I put it in a north facing window so it gets lots of light but no direct sun. I think the leaves burn easily.
But this is the biggest thing I’ve found: only water it when it starts to wilt. When you water it, water it well, but don’t water it again until it begins to wilt. It can be in a wilting state for a couple days and bounce back fine, but best to water once you notice it starting to droop a bit. Mine always look great when I do this, and it’s worked for others I’ve suggested it to in here.

It looks like there are like 40 seedlings in that pot, there should really only be one plant in that pot. If that’s the case they need to be culled.

Grocery store Basil is packaged to fail. They sell 40 baby plants all packed so close together that it’s guaranteed to die unless you separate & repot them.
