For my partner’s Christmas present, I made a terrarium out an old cookie jar.

Last year i think it was he actually purchased a terrarium for me from a local store and it’s been thriving since. The fittonia inside had been growing and growing and I didn’t want its growth potential to get cut so i took the cutting from there for his own one because we don’t currently live together so i thought it would be cute.

He’s also a huge warhammer fan (Nids being his army and Orks being mine) I wanted to also put a scene in there and make a mini diorama.

Anyways he loved it. I’m well chuffed as my first try.

I used rocks from my garden, old cardboard, potting soil and various moses.

A fittonia and asparagus fern for the plants. Then regular sand and some hard scapes. Looks much better in person.

Enjoy.
