  1. I wonder if it's possible that drafts when the door opens and closes is the reason the Blood Orange tree is defoliating? Maybe moving it away from the door would help?

  2. I like to see you taste new recipes because you are always so true! If it's good it's good, if it could be better, it could be better. It kind of irritates me on cooking shows or so when they taste the things at the end and ALLWAYS rolllled their eyes😂

  3. I do it with my hands I love to embroidery I started at 12 years old. Do kitchen towels give them away for presences. My aunts love them.

  4. Happy new year my young friend. I love all your videos. So encouraging and keeping the ordinary alive with joyous cheer. Going through dementia with my husband and just a couple of years ago had to have a rod in my spine due to degenerative disc. So living through your videos has been wonderful for my moral. Thank you for sharing all things. Not just gardening. You truly do romance the ordinary ❤. All the best in 2026. Can’t wait for my new calendar. To arrive any day now.

  5. I am just saying this without checking if someone already say it yes you can use lemons and it’s the same result just a lemon cake ❤ I have that recipe and I use any citrus fruit

  6. Hi Laura, I was hoping that you could show us your embroidery machine and how it works. I would also like to get one but I have been so indecisive on which one to get. Thank you.

  7. Nothing better than fresh from the tree citrus. Spoils me for store bought citrus I need to get since moving to Western Washington from California, where I had naval orange, pink and white grapefruit, blood orange, lemon and lime trees. Enjoy!

  8. PLEASE PLEASE put on safety glasses when potting mangave plants. God gave you only one pair of eyes. Next project- sink in studio. 👍

  9. 0:41 . I’ve seen before people have had good luck with removing the bottoms of the planters and letting potted trees just root into the ground. It would be pretty pertinent but it might work well for your citrus trees

  10. Blossoms on citrus trees are amazingly fragrant and very pleasant. Orange pound cake was my favorite to bake when I was raising my family. The aroma just makes me happy. I would love to grow citrus in central Utah : )

  11. I can't wait to try this recipe, it looks delish! I recently saw where Laura was commenting on canisters & I thought I'd throw in my 2 cents' worth. I have a set of Lock n Lock for flour, sugar, etc and they are the BEST I've ever found, I love them! They are clear, have sturdy handles and fit a bag of flour, sugar, etc. Have excellent seals too 🙂

  12. Try that acorus as a marginal plant along the stream. I had a clump next to my pond which jumped the plastic pond form and has formed a nice clump right in the water. Also, the pound cake looks wonderful!

  13. I totally agree about the citrus. We get to vacation at a place in Palm Springs that has a lemon tree. No comparison to what we get at the grocery store here in Canada.

  14. This is just a random question. You may have told us but did that pppr iris the magpie kept pulling up, survive?. My very favourite flower is iris, just love them. Crossed pollinated a few this year and, although it takes 2 years before they flower, I'm excited to see how they grow.

Wishing you and yours a happy and prosperous new year from Australia.

  15. I really appreciate the close up on the studio watering, it gave me a good idea on how much water to give my plants like those particular varieties. How often do you typically water in the studio?

  16. I was born and raised in south FL and my Grandmother had all kinds of citrus trees in her yard and we were 2-3 miles from a huge citrus grove, so citrus has a special place in my heart. The smell in the air in the Spring when the trees were blooming was Heavenly!!! Your cake looks divine!! My mouth is watering!! I have a meyer lemon and a mandarin orange tree I'm trying to grow in pots here in PA… wish me luck!!! ❤❤❤

  17. Hey interesting lemon info, I used country time lemonade mix whipped with heavy whipping cream..absolutely great.

  18. I live in So California and we have lemon, lime and navel orange trees. I made a beautiful Cranberry Orange bread for Christmas morning. It was nice going out to my Orange tree and picking a couple off the tree. We have to harvest both the lemon and orange trees before we prune them back before blossoms start to form.

  19. I would have probably done just a regular glazed over it, not orange, because I feel like that's way too much Orange, but that is just me.

  20. Willy Nilly piles…all busy people have them! But we always strive to do better! 💜🩵💙💚

  21. Hi Laura
Just a quickie, don't forget you can make a st Clements cake, using both a lemon and orange together, trust me its lovely also a lime and coconut

  22. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Try an orange syrup first before you glaze, same with lemon. Yum!!! Love from New Zealand x
