Me and my girlfriend got 3 houseplants for our new appartement. Today I found a lot of dead insects on the ground and we are worries that we have some kind of infestation. The plants especially the leaves look fine though.
Any idea what that’s about?
I water the big one every 10 days and the little ones every 3-5 depending on how the soil feels and the leaves look.
The big plant is right behind a window facing south in germany.

Looks like small flies
They may have a nest in the dirt
They are not dangerous but they are inconvenient
They look like fungus gnats – very common and not particularly concerning. The adults are harmless but quite irritating. You can get rid of them by removing decaying organic matter from the soil, scraping off the surface layer of the soil, sprinkling ground cinnamon on the soil or if it’s a bad infestation buy an insecticidal soap spray.
