Came home from 10 days away to my sage browning from the inside. Planted it back in September and put a small amount of mulch around it. Haven’t had any issues since planting.

Any idea what’s going on? I’ve been watering it every couple weeks but can’t remember if I did before leaving.

Maybe it’s losing the leaves that don’t get sunlight? I have a few Texas sages and they lose lots of leaves towards the base of the plant around this time of the year.

Mine does this, and often. Plant seems perfectly fine, but it stresses me out.

I wouldn’t worry about it. You can chop these things down to the ground and they will come back twice as big and strong. I have six TX sage (three different varietals) and one of my “Heavenly Cloud” varietals is doing this exact thing right now. Just leave it alone and I’m sure it’ll be just fine come spring.
