Hi everyone,

this plant grew spontaneously in a pot with cactus soil (no intentional planting).

I suspect it might be a caudex plant, but I’m not sure.

Characteristics:

– swollen base / possible caudex

– opposite, elliptic leaves

– pink flowers

– small, round, yellow capsules with red spots

Does anyone recognize this plant or know what species it might be?

Thanks!

My bet would be an orchid but when i saw the flower i dont think so, maybe an ant plant or an impatiens? Try to use a plant ID app and see what it tells ya.

Wait wait wait wait wait I know this!

    *Talinum paniculatum*

I have those they grew caudexes around 2cm in diameter in less than a year from seed. Also flowered in that period.
