Hi all, first time poster here. I moved into a house that has a heap of cactus. I’ve notice this big one ( would love to know the name) is getting more light yellow ( rather than dark yellow/ green). It’s on a slope with a hard edge of the house and not a lot of space for roots or water to sit there. I live in southern Australia and now into a dry hot summer after a wet winter. I didn’t water or fertilise at all over winter.

There is no sign of rot or any stress but would be amazing if anyone has tips for how much water and nutrients they need ? And if the yellow is a sign of under or over water ?

Thanks a lot

Cheers

    It’s not a cactus, it’s a euphorbia

Gosh, I believe thats a stunning euphorbia. What type I’m not sure, but go r/euphorbia and I bet you’ll find an expert there- if one doesn’t pop up here first!

Congrats, it’s beautiful and healthy looking r/euphorbiaceae specimen!

It’s so old it doesn’t need much water. If it receives too much water it’ll overhydrate and the limbs will potentially snap. Underwater it. It has so much stored energy.
