i had my alocasia since July and had been growing nicely ever since.however one time during winter i forgot to water it and two leaves became droopy then 2weeks after became like this. do i just cut the leaf off? i am scared it will affect the other leaf as it's showing some rot on the ither green leaf

Yes. As far as I know, those leafs won’t recover and only take energy from your plant.

Edit: I just learn I was wrong and you shouldn’t count them.

Typically, you leave a leaf that is dying until it crisps up as the plant uses all of its nutrients until it can’t anymore. If you are seeing root rot, you’ll need to address that as well which means you will need to take it out, rinse to see the roots, cut off any black parts with sterile cutting tool, re-pot with well draining soil and cross your fingers.

there’s nobody in nature cutting off leaves so i always leave dying leaves alone. let the plant take back nutrients from that leaf and recycle to the rest of the plant. how often are you watering? how much sunlight does it get? alocasia are notorious for letting go of leaves but 2 seems like something might be wrong.

wait until they’re crispy! the plant is still drawing the good stuff back into the whole.

You’ve got plenty of good answers. I’m team cut it off if it’s ugly lol. So I’d remove them
