Looking at getting one or the other in about a 20×20 size. I am located near Atlanta so not really getting much snow. I was looking at putting it on a concrete slab. Which is more durable? The pole barn builder I found uses these metal trusses which i'm worried would make a perfect place for birds to perch on.. but I think it would look nicer & hold up better long term

I’m in the south too. I’d go with top. It looks nice enough for dual use…storage/cars and when needed can be for picnics. Christmas type lights would hang nicely from the metal trusses for decoration.
Property built, wood is more durable than kinda cheapo painted metal but requires upkeep.
Galvanized metal is most durable with least upkeep
It comes down to cost and aesthetics – I personally would much rather have a custom pole barn but a well built one will cost a good deal more than a prefab kit
The top one. I wouldn’t call it a pole barn. Looks less”trailer park”. In fact looks pretty professional. Go with that.
Have pole barn and car ports, can’t wait to git rid of the car ports. The metal is meant to hold exactly that car port structure, they aren’t very strong. A good pole barn, you can add siding as you go and even build shelving and what not if needed. If your pole barn is on a slab, put the poles on top of the slab with plates, not inside the slab
I would go with the top.
I don’t know what weather is like in Atlanta, but down in Louisiana I can almost bet on *at least* one storm a year with 50 to 90 MPH winds.
I would want the one least likely to become a wind tunnel that decides to take a trip to Oz. Those prefab carports just feel so sketchy to me.
