So in zone 7B i take this 2 yr old seedling indoors for winter. I’m getting conflicting advice on dormant period: some say ZERO water, some say periodic watering. Best advice? Somehow i lost my other one last winter from root despite ZERO water! Any tips to keep my last ‘Bab alive? I love this tree!

Thanks

I’m far from an expert on these plants but I normally water weekly/bi weekly. I have fans and grow lights that dry things out fairly quickly though.

Hi, zone 8b here, winter now. I treat my Adansonias like succulents. In October, I move them from the greenhouse to the house, windowsill, and stop watering them, not even a little, until I see the first new leaves emerge in spring.

I can’t say I’m an expert, but my oldest baobab is 11 years old. I put them in the basement for winter ~60°F and I completely stop watering them until I put them back outside. I used to bring them into a greenhouse which had lights and fans. If they have leaves, they get water. No leaves, no water.
