WOODBRIDGE, N.J. – A 22-year-old Elizabeth man was killed on Christmas Eve after a multi-vehicle crash on the Garden State Parkway, according to New Jersey State Police.
Troopers said the crash occurred around 2:15 p.m. near Woodbridge Township when Li Wei Lin lost control of his Honda on an entrance ramp and struck a guardrail. After the initial impact, the car veered into the northbound lanes of the parkway, crossing traffic and colliding with a Lexus SUV driven by a 57-year-old woman.
The force of the collision sent Lin’s car into a concrete barrier, bringing it to a stop. Moments later, a Ram pickup truck driven by a 74-year-old man struck the Lexus, police said.
Lin was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries. Authorities said the woman driving the Lexus was not hurt, while the pickup truck driver sustained minor injuries.
State Police investigators are continuing to examine the sequence of events that led to the crash.
