Ever wonder how to save onion seeds after they bolt? Harvest stalks when they are dry and brown. Place seed heads in a paper sack and let them dry for several days. The seeds should fall out into the bottom of the bag.

Store them in a cool, dry place, and you’ll have seeds ready for planting next season! 🧅

  1. I just saved one onion flowers seed and then found three in my friends’ garden and asked for them too. Im wondering when you might start these seeds? They are short season onion seed for my southern garden, and Im in a hot summer climate zone 9 similar to yours.

  2. You can make pakoda with onions flower. Make a batter using gram flour, salt, turmeric and dip onion flower and deep fry until golden brown. Enjoy

  3. You shouldn't really save seed from one that bolts prematurely, though, as then you are selecting for onions that will have a tendency to bolt. But it is great saving your own seed.

  4. "If They're Black, They're ready to harvest" Hmmm…. I believe I heard this statement on diffrent situation before 🤔

  5. I left mines too long and now they are starting to make the actual onions from the top of the green onion treee. What do I do please?
