Erythrina humeana (Fabaceae) seeds sown a couple of days ago, already germinating.
Soaking the seeds overnight does speed up the process significantly, however after 24 hours the seeds didn't swell up at all. The red seed coat on Erythrina seeds is incredibly hard, last time it was a mission to scarify them so this time I hoped it'd be enough to just soak them. Nope.
I then proceeded to pierce a small hole into the seed coat with the tip of a blade, and then soaked it overnight again in warm water. Huge difference.
