A 22-year-old Elizabeth man was killed in a multi-car accident on the Garden State Parkway on Wednesday afternoon when his car ran off the road near a Woodbridge entrance ramp.

According to a New Jersey State Police spokesman, Li Wei Lin was driving a Honda onto the parkway from the Exit 132 entrance ramp at about 3:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve when his vehicle ran off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail.

After hitting the guardrail, the Honda continued on the ramp and entered the northbound lanes of the parkway, perpendicular to the flow of traffic.

A 57-year-old Barnegat woman behind the wheel of a Lexus SUV was driving north on the parkway when she struck the Honda, which then hit a concrete barrier.

A 74-year-old motorist from Beach Haven, also heading north on the parkway in a Ram pickup truck, then struck the Lexus in the rear.

State Police said Li Wei Lin sustained fatal injuries in the crash. The Lexus driver was uninjured and Beach Haven man sustained minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
