An Alliance man is set to serve time behind bars following a sentence handed down by Judge Derek Weimer in Garden County District Court.
Ryan Dailey appeared before the Judge on December first to receive his sentence for the charge of attempting a Class 2 Felony, a Class 2A Felony. Initially, Dailey was charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a minor, each a Class 2 Felony, one count of third degree sexual assault of a child, a Class 3A Felony, and two counts of debauching a minor, each a Class 1 Misdemeanor; however, the charges were amended to just one count of attempting a Class 2 Felony.
According to a press release issued by Randy Ross, Garden County Sheriff, the charges stem from a voluntary confession to the sexual assault of a 13-year old female in Garden County in January 2019.
“On May 23, 2025, Sheriff Ross received a report and video-recorded interview from Sergeant David LaDuke of the Alliance Police Department. In the interview, Dailey described in detail his sexual contact with the victim, who was 13 years old at the time. Dailey admitted he was between 19 and 20 years old when the incident occurred,” the press release stated.
The confession, according to the press release, corroborated a report from July 2019 that was investigated by the Garden County Sheriff’s Office.
“The investigation revealed the victim met Dailey via social media, and two incidents of sexual activity occurred at Dailey’s mother’s residence in Oshkosh, Nebraska. A second interview with Dailey was conducted on May 22, 2025 at the Box Butte County Jail, during which Dailey confirmed further details of the assault, the exchange of explicit images, and acknowledged knowing the victim’s age,” the press release stated.
In court, Dailey pleaded guilty to the charge, and Judge Weimer sentenced Dailey to serve a sentence of not less than 10 years and not more than 15 years in prison, with a credit for 188 days served. According to the Nebraska Department of Corrections, assuming Dailey loses no good time, he has a projected release date of November 25, 2032.
