Had this plant for years & has been super healthy. Watered small bits once a wk. Always in same spot with adequate sun. Healthy!
Until recently. Leaves browning. I got a plant soil water detector & it always says wet. So I hold off on watering. Pot has drain holes. Seems strange to not ever water.
Then I smelled urine & found cat poo & assuming cat used it as litterbox at least once.
I took it outside, removed pot & rinsed roots thoroughly, added new dirt & brought it back inside.
I cut off top foot & in lower right you can see it’s regrowing nicely. Wondering if I should chop it off & start it over in a larger pot.

The new leaves are looking good, so that’s a plus. When was the last time you fed it? The color is a little light, so I’m wondering if it hasn’t been fed in a while…
