My mother gave me these and I have no idea what I'm doing with them. They were outside until stray animals unpoded them and wrecked them. I'm hoping to save them so I put them in this fish tank, 2 in of large River rocks gravel and marbles at the bottom, grow light, and then a picture of the soil I used at the top. Will this work?

Hey, unless you’re very experienced with creating terrariums for succulents, it’s generally not recommended, the humid conditions are the opposite of what these kinds of plants need.

Get yourself some pots (ideally unglazed ceramic, but plastic will do) that are only slightly bigger than the root ball of each plant. You’ll then want to add something gritty and inorganic, like perlite, pumice or chicken grit, in at least a 1:1 ratio with your cactus soil (commercial mixes are rarely quick draining enough). Make sure the plants are high in their pots so that all the leaves can see over the side and absorb light. If you want to keep them inside going forward, put them in the sunniest window in your home, but if they start stretching you may need to supplement them with a grow light, acclimating them slowly to the new light source so they don’t burn.

If you have a look on r/succulents, the have a really useful wiki that’s pinned under the group description, it’ll give you pretty much all the info to get you started. Reddit can also be used like a search engine, most plant challenges you come across will probably have been experienced and posted by someone else, and advice given to them.
