My husband and I are having to move much closer to my work due to him having an acute health issue. I'm sort of grieving the house we've lived in together for almost two decades and would like to take something with me.

I believe this tree(?) precedes the buying of the house over 20 years ago. Any idea what this is and the best way to propagate from it? Can I take from the longer, smaller branches that leaf out or should I take something more substantial? Could water propagation work?

The only experience I have is propagating pothos and some random aquarium plants. Help is very much appreciated!

This looks like a twisty willow- so I would look up how to propagate for that.

pretty hard to tell from the single picture but my best guess is some sort of pyrus? To me the bark looks like a bradford pear but i dont think there are weeping varieties. Is it possibly a weeping peach?

looks like a willow, my dad took a branch of one and water propped it one time and a couple years later we have a tree that was 6” tall, it was infested with ants so we cut it down and in half the time it’s already as tall as it used to be

We need to know what species this is before we can recommend a propagation method. There’s no way for us to know what species this is from the pic you provided, there are 3-4 different plants this could be. Pics of leaves would be helpful but at the very least, take a picture of a dormant leaf bud and we can probably help you figure it out.
