A suggestion. Put wire mesh or crumbled wire in the Hartley hole. When doors to cold frame are cracked, mice will always seek out a warmer space . Only takes a moment for a problem to settle in!
Merry Christmas to all of my Garden Answer family! May we all have a wonderful holiday with our loved ones.
It makes me happy to see you planting a winter crop in the cold frame! I know how much you enjoy eating home grown produce.
โ๏ธGood morning Laura, family and all GA watchers.โ๏ธ Happy winter๐ฌ๐จ and Merry Christmas ๐๐๐ I wish all of you warmth, be it by the sun, logs in the stove, or by our Almighty FATHER in your soul. ๐๐ป๐๐๐๐
It will be fun watching these grow. You make everything so fun!
Merry Christmas!

Just a thought, You might want to put steel wool in the holes from inside to keep mice or critters out of the inside.
Watching your Hartley garden is going to be amazing ๐ฑ๐ฅ
Sir Douglas is so cute, Iโd pet the hair off of him lol ๐ and of course Mister Russell
I love that you are so patient with Douglas
I I think he stoked out because of fear.Lobe the cold frame.Enjoy your holiday.๐โค๏ธ๐๐ฒโ
I have been wanting to see you do this! I can't wait to see how everything does.
What happened to your cat Cheddar? You had Cheddar, then Russell, and then Walter showed up. Iโm assuming he passed away?
Thank you Laura!๐๐๐พ
That opening for your power cords into the Hartley concerns me. All I can see is when you leave the doors open youโre going to get little critters into the Hartley. I would shove some pink insulation or something in there. Critters freak me out!
Grabbed 2 pairs of gloves, never put them on….classic Laura. ๐ Jessica, Pacifica, Ca
Received my 12 drawer seed cabinet yesterday and wasn't sure where I could put it – very small home. BUT, Hurray, as I set it up, I realized it fit perfectly in that space and looks so good under my very low, living room windows. I can set the terrarium on the top (ordered yesterday and it has already been sent). It LOOKS so good! I'm so happy with it and now it makes a wonderful coffee table. Your project today is also a happy moment – something done that looks good and will reward you later – I LOVE GARDENING and Garden Answer!
Merry Christmas Laura and Aaron also family helpers! Good morning! Have awesome sauce day! Cold frame hmm! Hugs and love!โค๐โค
Merry Christmas everyone ๐โ๐โ๐โฅ๏ธ Have a blessed one!
Love door glass ๐ฑ๐ฑnice
HUGLEKULTUR…These spaces might be a good space for one!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I am so excited to see the cold frames in use in the winter! Iโve wondered ever since they were installed how effective they are in winter and now we will get to them in action!! Yea!!๐
These cold frame seedlings are going to be so fun to watch the progress๐

๐๐ปโค๏ธMerry Christmas ๐
Laura!! I'm right there with ya on the radishes. Try quick pickling slices to keep in the fridge, they're delicious on tacos and sandwiches! ๐
I just love everything you all do and have for many years. The beautiful seed library is absolutely genius to recreate. I have a million seeds. Suggestion, how about a separate box of some sort to put on the top or bottom, (maybe with cute little legs) for gloves, garden tools, plant tags etc. that matches the seed library? Thank you for all of your inspiration and fabulous ideas. Merry Christmas and The Best Happy New Year. โค
Merry Christmas to all ๐ You are amazing, I so look forward to each of your posting and Garden Answers makes my day ๐ Love watching Benjamin & Samantha growing and becoming more involved with what your are doing and learning along side of you and enjoy Aaronโs love of trees! โค๏ธ๐๐ฒ๐ณโค๏ธ
What a treat this project was! Seeds in the cold frame!โคโคโค
Why are rhe cold frames so low?
โคโคDouglas โคโค
Oooh, I like this project and look forward to how it goes. How have you used those cables before?? I don't have cold frames, but maybe in raised beds in early Spring??
Hi Laura! Merry Christmas to you and your family! Thank you for the inspiration! I'm going to play in the garden today. I've received the replacement for our Adam's Elderberry for the one that got fried in our Las Vegas 120ยฐ+ heat. I have other fruit trees to repot in larger pots today. Seeds will going into the ground after more Christmas cookies are baked. Question: Where do you buy you metal plant tags? The Las Vegas heat kills plastic plant tags.
Your electric power washer would have been perfect for cleaning your cold frame. And you need a carrier for all your stuff. I am always so inspired and motivated by you Laura.
Iโm so Thankful for you and Arron, your children, your mom and dad, and Monica for all your contributions. Iโm also very much in love with all your beautiful creatureโs.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a very Merry Christmas.
Gods Blessingโs to all of Garden Answers Family and Friends.
Laura like you Iโm not keen on radishes. I have noticed that the British and other European countries roast radishes. I wonder if any others have had them roasted.
Oh what fun to look forward to ๐ฅฐ
โค๐ซ๐ฅฌ ๐ฟ ๐๐โโฌ๐กetc…๐ to U & yours๐, thank you for sharing everything
Oh Laura thank you for the look forward to spring
Please show what to do with an opened package of seeds that you still have seeds left in and you put back in your seed storage. I close my seed packs with small paper clips.
Thank you ๐ Thank you ๐ I' ve been waiting for a video about winter gardening โค Merry Christmas everyone ๐
Iโm so thankful for this seed starting video! I could almost smell the soil! Seasonal depression and living in MN donโt mix. Thank you for taking me outside today, Laura!โค
Merry Christmas to your entire family Laura as well as the whole Garden Answer family! What a blessing this year has been. Your videos are some of my favorite entertainment of the day! Plus, learn so much!!
Excited to get some greens going, Laura. Always inspiring.

Where's your two pair of gloves? LOL
Laura she might plug the opening back in the Hartley in case any pests make the way in and get to your plants. Also so cute Samantha with Russel and his meowing when you were filling out the tagsโค๏ธ
โคLOVE seeing you use the Hartleyโs cold frame for this. Cant wait to see the progress and harvest. All the best to you and your family for a beautiful Christmas season!
Grabs two pairs of gloves, wears none. ๐
Merry Christmas ๐๐๐ ๐ผโค๏ธ
