The Rancho Santa Fe Garden Club welcomed members to its Annual Wreath Making Workshop on Dec. 15 at The Secret Garden in Rancho Santa Fe, a cherished tradition dating back to World War II, when Garden Club members crafted handmade wreaths to lift the spirits of injured soldiers recovering in military hospitals, according to a news release.

This year’s workshop brought that tradition to life once again, with over 60 members in attendance. The Rancho Santa Fe Association Parks Department, generously donated fresh blue cedar, eucalyptus, and California Christmas berry. The Garden Club provided an array of colorful decorations, pinecones, and bows, helping members transform their wreath-making visions into one-of-a-kind holiday creations.

Members embraced the festive morning surrounded by the fragrance of evergreens and the joyful sounds of holiday music. Attendees brought homemade cookies and treats for all to enjoy as they worked, filling the venue with warmth and good cheer. Many longtime members shared their techniques with newcomers to the Garden Club, creating a collaborative and welcoming environment where creativity thrived, the news release stated.

The Wreath Making Workshop is one of many year-round programs hosted by the Rancho Santa Fe Garden Club. Membership to the Garden Club is open to everyone and information on becoming a member, upcoming events or the Garden Club’s resale shop, Bloom again, can be found by visiting www.rsfgardenclub.org.

In 2026, the club will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a full calendar of special events planned throughout the year. The Rancho Santa Fe Garden Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that to date has awarded over $1 million in grants to applicants that support its mission.
