Finally got around to this! Sowed 18 different types of mostly native plants for next spring. Took much longer than I thought as this was my first go. Had way too many Douglas aster/yarrow/joe pye seeds so I grossly overseeded a bunch of pots and raised beds after the milk jugs were done. Included some pics of process. We’ll see what happens in a few months 🙂

i respect the consistency of binding material used and labeling.
i am intrigued by your milkcontainers. why did you use them anf cut them in half like that?
Congrats, that looks fabulous!
Looks great! Now you can check them every day in March to see if something germinated!
I used blue painters tape and sealed the whole cut in the jug. Mine go behind my barn on the ground in the leaves/snow and I sealed them so mice etc. didn’t get in them. A single piece like you did would be easier to open in the spring though.
Congratulations, please post an update in spring.
I just did most of mine yesterday and had them all labeled nicely then my 5 year old got the marker, it’s a crap shoot at this point if I can even still read what I marked

My first year as well! Kinda wish I did the jug method but didn’t start collecting them in time. Hoping I get at least one Coral Honeysuckle alive and to the ground
