Late summer through winter is one of the most underrated growing windows in Southern California—and in this episode I’m walking you through what’s been happening in our California garden: the harvests we’ve been pulling, what’s still thriving in the cooler season, and a full winter tour of our raised beds and containers.

You’ll see real harvests from our garden (including potatoes, tomatoes, beans, beets, peppers/chilies, and more), plus a closer look at crops that keep producing deep into winter here in SoCal—especially eggplants. I’m growing multiple eggplant varieties this season (including Striped Indian eggplant and Kashmiri eggplant) and sharing why I don’t rush to remove “summer crops” too early in a mild-winter climate.

I also show how we’re using the GreenStalk planter setup for vertical growing, and I wrap up with one of the most important habits for better yields year-round: adding compost regularly. You’ll see our two-chamber composter, how we use kitchen scraps + coffee grounds, and why top-dressing beds with finished compost makes a huge difference.

  1. Thanks for sharing! Please don’t let Tesla off leash especially to scare/chase wildlife. It’s not fun for the prey and it’s illegal.

  2. So inspiring to see how much food you harvested across the seasons 🌱👏
Late summer to winter all in one tour really shows what’s possible — makes me want to plan my garden better too. I’m curious how it all connects through the year on your channel 👀
