Well, that’s irritating! I specifically bought a labeled “Passiflora Incarnata, purple flowers” as a host and nectar for SW Florida butterflies. At least I didn’t put it in the ground yet.

Seems like you got *Passiflora vitifolia* instead

It’s gorgeous and will still attract tons of pollinators, what is there to be irritated about? How can you be upset with such an awesome flower. Enjoy and cherish that healthy blooming passionflower!

What’s the big deal? If you’re looking for native flowers im pretty sure these are also native to Florida?

But it’s beautiful!! Just get purple too and have all the colors.

It is beautiful, but definitely not what it said on the label. I find it almost deranged that some responses are actually critical of OP’s statement and disappointment. Imagine buying a Corvette that’s supposed to have an L82 engine…but finding out it was just a decal stuck to the hood. You got the garden variety L48 instead.
How about if you bought Delicata squash seeds, and ended up with pumpkin?
That takes a whole growing season to find out, and if you grow your squash vertically, you’re going to find out the hard way that pumpkin isn’t going to hang nicely. 😂

Those are 2 examples of mislabeled things that I know actually happened. You’re paying for something specific. It’s not entitlement or misplaced expectations or a lack of gratitude.
The actual term is misrepresentation. OP has a right to expect what was on the label.

At least it’s passiflora. Maybe not the incarnata (native) variety, but those can be found in the wild if you really want one. Shoot, if you’re like me, the incarnata self propagates if you can just get a little shoot rooted in your yard.
