I think it’s kind of just scar tissue from the new growth? I think it’s fine? I’m not really a cactus squid tho. Good luck getting definitive answer!

That looks like scarring. I haven’t had this happen with my opuntia from new growth. I wouldn’t mess with it and hopefully it’ll be fine. If it turns any other color o might worry.
