So just a bit of backstory. I bought these European Cypress from an aldi while traveling and I thought the white fluff was just something they did when there baby's. Now that I got them home I looked online and I can't find anything that looks like them. Can someone weigh in on this? Are they supposed to have this white fluff all over them or is someone just gluing this stuff on and now I have to clean it all off?

I just watered them cause they had really dry soil, maybe try to water them about once a week and its got drainage holes and they get aleast 8 hrs of sun from my 100 watt led light. I've only had them here for like 3 days and they seem to be doing fine.

It’s flocked, supposed to look like a snow covered tree.

    I have one that looks
Like this from Trader Joe’s. It comes off just run it under water but don’t let the roots rot

Brush off as much as you can, try washing it in warm water with a bit of dishsoap. If that doesn’t get it off try alcohol. It’s a bit of a bear to remove.

They sprayed shit on it to look like snow. I’d try to wash it all off

Oh my god I thought it was mealies 💀 I’ve seen some mighty bad infestations and my brain was completely primed to see mealybugs. Glad it”s…not? But good luck getting that shit off the plant.

and here i thought this was the worst mealybug infection ever recorded in plant history.

that vile crap is intentional ? get it off the friggin’ plant-you’re blocking all the light, and it’ll be dead in short order.

very hard to do indoors-that’s really an outside tree.
