I see some growth like to the plant however it looks like it’s in horrible shape so what I’m wondering I know that they have their nodes but can you put the stem in the water too and have it grow just the same like the end of the vine? Can you stick that in water or does it have to be nodes ?

because sometimes they are positioned in a weird angle so for me to propagate and water, I have to like stand it up. If I could just put the vine the end of the thing in the water that would be so much easier. What can I do about this I probably should propagate this whole plant, right and please for the love of God. I’m only asking about this. I’m not asking about pest or bugs .

Not an expert on string of plants but I have a few and they need a root system otherwise they will slowly fade away and die. Can’t really water them over soil either or they often rot and die. You can place a section/some nodes in water and let a root system grow from there. The roots do need to be thick for you to transplant them to soil otherwise they’ll quickly die. Can’t leave them in water for months either or it’ll struggle to take to soil.

so again the question is, can you stick the stem part in the water or does it have to be the node
