I've never seen this before. It looks like it's pushing out a baby garlic! The clove is just starting to sprout, but no other ones that are sprouting look any different than a normal garlic. What would create this?
It just wasn’t properly stored (or has been stored too long) and was able to restart its growth cycle. What we eat as individual cloves of garlic are what is planted to grow new bulbs.
