Began to enlarge the hole and discovered it’s is really in there. That coupled with a substantial root ball mass…and I then checked the pot: $26.

Sooo time for a love tap from Mr Smashy.

Thanks all for the ideas, advice and perspectives!

This specimen has been transplanted to a much roomier situation with ample room to grow.

I’m so sorry you had to break your pot, maybe some mega uber super glue can put it back together?

Good choice. That type of pot is designed for strawberries, anyway, not other types of plants.

Update picture of happy plant in new pot? 😁

Welp, looks like you gotta learn the art of kintsugi next.

I had to do the same thing to one of my succulents. I stuck the broken pieces of pot under some bushes and it became the toad hybernation and community center. Maybe make a habitat if you can.

  6. I want you to know after seeing your first post I ended up purchasing a strawberry pot like this one and put a bunch of golem jades in each opening.

It’ll be a long time until like I have to go Link on it like you did, but know that I’m carrying your torch now, lmao.

Beautiful plant. Well worth sacrificing the pot to save it.
