Sometimes depending on the garden design, we choose or specify smaller specimens. Here the difference between Taxus baccata sizes and shape, Laurus nobilis, Buxus semprevirens is essential to get right. As a hedge we can choose depending on timeline of build meets growth rates, to purchase on your behalf at a smaller size. In reality, they are slow growers and waiting 50 years (so to speak) to save a few hundred euro isn’t the correct path. The alternate, maybe to select different plant list but that at times changes the dream completely and all great gardens start with the picture frame and backdrop. Eliminate the distractions and everything works off that.
Recorded at Yellow Furze, Ireland and Boom & Bonhouer, Netherlands.
