My aunt told me that for beginners, potted roses are actually easier to care for. With ground planting, if you water too much, the roots won't grow deep, but will only develop a layer of shallow, fine roots on the surface. Too much water can easily lead to root rot and disease.

Potted plants are much more straightforward; you can shake the pot to judge whether or not to water, making it less likely to make mistakes. Potted plants are also easy to move. After flowering, you can move them to a shadier spot, which will extend the flowering period and make maintenance easier. Once the flowers have faded, you can move the potted plant back to a sunny location, and it will quickly develop new buds.

I'm a beginner, and I've been lurking here for a long time, so I'm just sharing my aunt's experience.

  1. This is absolutely a glorious display. I agree with you about the potted plant issue when it comes to roses .these colors are vibrant and electrifying. You made my day thanks for posting

  2. Wow, does your aunt have any more tips? Does she have any fertilizer recommendations? I moved into a place with roses and I’m afraid I’m failing them.
