Barnegat earned a pair of individual titles on their home mat to win the team race at the 2025 Garden State Classic, in Barnegat.
Barnegat finished with 203 team points, Cinnaminson took second with 193, and Asbury Park trialed in third with 143.
Gerald Miller won the 175-pound title for the Bengals by earning a 10-6 decision over Lakewood’s Jose Vidal. In the 215-pound title match, Charles Black outlasted Asbury Park’s Jay-Denn Vazquez-Francillion in a high scoring back and forth affair that ended with a 15-13 decision win for the Bengal. Black secured the win by scoring four points off a reversal and a nearfall in the match’s closing minute.
Cinnaminson had themselves a day by earning four titles. Ryan Marino (138), Dominic Marino (144), Levi Jander (157), and Jake Barbich all won titles for the Pirates.
Immaculata, No. 16 in the NJ.com Top 20, won three weight classes. Luke Loffredo earned the 113 crown with a 16-0 tech over Aniello Napolitano (Haddon Heights), Anthony Lopez took care of business one weight class up by downing Haddon Heights’ Cole Denning with an 18-3 tech in the 120-pound final, and Trevin Highton won the 165-pound title with a third period pin over Cinnaminson’s Davi Guimaraes.
Asbury Park’s Daylen Bunting (106), Cedar Creek’s Hector Villarubia-Torres (126), Monmouth’s Jack Puleio (132), Bordentown’s Joseph Hartz (150), and Cedar Creek’s Slayton D’Amico (285) also won titles.
