This is mormodes Roehampton Flame. This is my only pure mormodes in my collection. I almost lost this plant about 2 to 3 years ago to rot but I somehow manage to save it and it has been making a comeback ever since and I believe that this plant is in a healthy condition where I don't need to worry so much about losing it anymore.
The fiery orange and spotting on this is mesmerizing in person. The camera really does not do it justice. It does have a fragrance. I don't think it's something that a lot of people might enjoy. What I get from it is a mothball with a touch of licorice. It's strong enough that it can be detected about 5 ft from it. Overall, this is an excellent early Christmas gift that this plant can give me.

The color is spectacular! I tried a couple of straight Mormodes species and had no luck but they’re so incredibly beautiful that I know I can’t stay away from them. Maybe the hybrids are more forgiving.
