I could cry right now. I think I am killing this beauty. Am I over watering, under watering, not enough light? I bought this plant in the beginning of December (see pic 5, 6, 7). Since then, I soaked it 1x when I first got it home and set it upside to dry. After that, I have misted it every 2-3 days or taken it into the bathroom while I take a hot shower. It seems to be looking worse as time goes on. The leaves at the base are now brown, as well as some of the leaves in the front. What am I doing wrong? I try to give it enough light, but I live in the north-east and it is dark and cold by 4:45 pm. I really dont want her to die. 😢 Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It’s not you! It’s fun to get an air plant that’s already close to flowering, but what they probably neglected to tell you was that usually after flowering and/or producing pups, the plant will die. It may be a while still, I think it can be months. I know exactly what you’re feeling, I get it all the time with all my babies. But it’s not you, this is most likely just the life cycle! Just know that you brought this little friend to a nice loving home regardless of how long it’s with you💙
