The project is expected to triple their food capacity
A volunteer team from Aramark Destinations at Mesa Verde National Park donated about 80 hours to the Good Samaritan Food Bank this year, constructing and installing new garden beds to increase the food bank’s capacity for fresh produce.
According to a news release from Aramark Destinations, the project was valued at $3,000 in materials and labor. The company estimates the expansion will triple the food bank’s capacity.
The group also donated more than $2,000 in food to support local food banks.
The Montezuma County project is part of Aramark Destinations’ 2025 initiative covering other U.S. national parks and conservation sites. The press release said Aramark Destinations has provided thousands of pounds of food and hundreds of volunteer hours to rural gateway communities near these parks.
“Aramark Destinations prioritizes supporting the communities that our team members call home,” Sasha Day, president and CEO of Aramark Destinations, said. “These efforts reflect our long-term dedication to building stronger, more resilient communities.”
Other projects included food donations to Meals on Wheels programs at Isle Royale National Park and the National Conservation Training Center in West Virginia, plus community events at Glacier Bay Lodge in Alaska.
Aramark Destinations provides hospitality services at U.S. national and state parks, conference centers and similar locations.
